About Us

Where economic thinking gets built, not just taught.

Eco Shastra was founded in 2017 with a simple belief: economics is more than graphs and models—it's history, society, and human behaviour shaping the world around us. While rooted in economics, we welcome anyone who is curious to understand how the world works.

Through seminars, webinars, panel discussions, workshops, and flagship events, we encourage meaningful conversations around real-world economic issues—from inflation and trade to public policy and global markets. Our aim is to make economics engaging, accessible, and relevant beyond the classroom.

More than just a student society, Eco Shastra is a community that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, collaboration, and leadership. It is a space where ideas are exchanged, perspectives grow, and students learn from one another while building skills that extend far beyond academics.

  • Academic excellence through discussion-driven learning
  • Leadership opportunities across eight departments
  • A creative, student-run platform for events and ideas
